You have chosen the latest in php web design applications for creating e-mail newsletters with subscriber mailing list. All aspects of the newsletter management are administered from the ZWS Newsletter control panel which utilizes sessions for login and user administration.


Operating Instructions
  1. Login to ZWS Newsletter by pointing your browser to http://your_url/newsletter/


  2. ZWS Newsletter opens to the main index where you can begin creating your newsletters by clicking on the Add newsletter link. You can create your newsletter from the form or paste from an existing document. This will be an HTML file and needs the required tags accordingly. There is no need to include meta or DOCTYPE headers as this is handled in the mail function. To view your newsletter, click on the Edit/Send newsletter letter link. From this page you can update, delete, view and send your newsletter as HTML or text. This lets you tweak your newsletter so it displays correctly in HTML or text only e-mail clients. The script automatically converts your HTML to text for viewing and e-mail functions. Click on Send Mail to mail your newsletter. You can create unlimited newsletters and all newsletters are archived upon submitting the add form.


  3. Click on the Main index link and then click on the Add user link. From here, you can add users to your newsletter staff by filling in the form. Choose admin for full access privilages or Limited for add/view only access. Clist on the List users link to list and delete current users. Note: Only users with admin access can delete users, newsletters and subscribers or view user passwords.


  4. Click on the Main index link and then click on the Edit/List subscriber link. From here you can view your mailing list and delete any subscriber. Click on the Add subscriber link to add a new subscriber to the database. Click on the Search mailing list link to search for a particular subscriber e-mail.


  5. Included is a text file called "subscriber_forms.txt" which has a subscriber add form and unsubscribe form. You can edit and copy and paste these forms into any current webpage. Also included is a file called "archive.php" which allows your viewers to access archived newsletters. Edit the HTML and links and include into any PHP document. ie: <?php include "http://your_site/newsletter/archive.php?f=archive"; ?>



**Important information on conditions when using ZWS Newsletter**


ZWS Newsletter was tested using Outlook Express, Netscape Mail, Opera Mail and Yahoo Mail. Other e-mail clients or e-mail servers may not display your newsletter as expected. This is due to the varied Mime and code characteristics of each one. The HTML to text conversion is based on the natural page formatting characteristics of HTML tags. <br>, <div>, <p>, <ol>, <ul>, <il>, etc. tags will add line breaks in the text e-mail as they would in any HTML document. Do not use forms in the newsletter. Avoid complex HTML and minimize the number of images to insure that your newsletter is readable and uncluttered.

When creating text e-mail w/o HTML formatting, use <br> tags for line breaks in the add form.
